REIDsteel was established by Colonel John Reid in 1919 as a family business and is still owned and managed by the same family today. We have a modern equipped structural design office and seven factory workshops where our steel structures are manufactured. Corus steel rolled to British Standards is used by us almost exclusively. We will also provide cladding, insulation, overhead cranes, gantries, doors, windows, ventilation and all the accessories needed for the complete structure.
In addition to aircraft hangars, we design and make military hardened hangars, airport buildings, bus stations, multi-story car parks and apartment buildings, grandstands, warehouses, bridges and industrial buildings of every type. All our constructions can be made earthquake and hurricane resistant. REIDsteel is a Member of British Airport Services & Equipment Association (BASEA), British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA), The Steel Construction Institute (SCI), Audited by Register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors, RQSC, category A1.In 2009 we were awarded our fourth Queens Award for Enterprise for International Trade, having received the award previously in 1985, 2006 and 2008. This is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a UK company. Engineers at REIDsteel have also developed and patented a design for the REIDsteel Archspan frame, a design which enables even the widest span steel buildings to be fabricated, transported, galvanised and erected with ease. This has made REIDsteel unequalled both at home and abroad for the design and construction of wide span buildings. |
